“Mister Jalopy and the Maker Philosophy” @ College of the Canyons
By Spencer Cross | October 29, 2008
Los Angeles’s Mister Jalopy, “founder of the Maker Art movement,” opens a gallery show this weekend at Santa Clarita’s College of the Canyons:
Painter Paul Gauguin once said, “Art is either plagiarism or revolution,” but the work of local artist Mister Jalopy defies that logic by appropriating discarded consumer products and creating something spectacularly new.
Work on display will include the World’s Largest iPod, the Compact Childhood Museum and the Urban Guerilla Movie House. More information at Dinosaurs and Robots.
