Kelly Lynn Jones @ Little Bird
By mike | August 5, 2008

Like artists there are also young galleries to keep an eye on as they mature. Little Bird in Atwater Village is such a gallery. In the relatively short span of a couple years they’ve put together a strategically diverse program and a roster of artists who balance a solid critical awareness with the ability to make artworks that are visually appealing without a heavy conceptual sacrifice. For those looking for affordable work by emerging artists with career potential Little Bird is a good bet. Speaking of which Kelly Lynn Jones show opens August 9th. with a new body of work on paper that is a stylistic progression. The new series retains the same sparseness as the previous allowing viewers to make individual connections between carefully chosen objects whose relationships (in my mind) reflect our relationship with the environment and the delicate line between societal harmony and social discord. Little Bird Gallery Is tiny ( oh I get the connection to the name now ) butwell worth the trip.
