Side Street Projects’ SweetSixteen

By Caryn | May 13, 2008

Turning sixteen is a momentous occasion in any girl’s life but how does one celebrate when the sweet sixteen is for one of Los Angeles’ best art organizations Side Street Projects? Though it fortunately will probably not resemble the over-the-top affairs on that MTV, SSP is saying their SweetSixteen will be a “classy/trashy affair replete with gourmet trailer park soul food and top-shelf booze…” Party time indeed.

As usual, Side Street has teamed up with an amazing L.A. artist to produce a super top-secret print to commemorate the celebration. This time it’s Catherine Opie who, let’s just say, has done a print that features something close to Side Street’s heart. Of course, I can’t tell you what it is (as much as my cold heart wants to) but what I can tell you is that it’s limited to only 50 and that it’s for ticket holders only. Meaning, you buy a $100 ticket to the soiree and you can get the Opie for $500. If any are left the night of the event or after, price leaps to $1000. Trust me, get it now. Support a wonderful L.A. institution run by fantastic people and get a really, super fabulous piece.

Party date for SweetSixteen is Saturday, June 7th, from 6-10pm (location for ticket holders only). To get tickets and more details visit the Side Street Projects’ site.
